The Chancellor’s Spring Statement

Chancellor Philip Hammond kept to his promise of moving away from a major financial announcement at this time of year. In fact his Spring Statement almost slipped under the radar with all the focus on Russian issues.
No red briefcase, a different announcement day and no tax changes was a definite departure from the norm.

This statement mostly focused on a raft of consultations and updating economic forecasts.
